Walk with me
Share your live location with people you trust and set a check-in time for when you should arrive.
How it works
Share, set a time, start
Share your live location in Google Maps and pick who sees it there. Then set a check-in time, add the place you are heading to if you like, and start.
When you arrive, tap "I'm safe" and the timer stops. If you need longer, tap "Add 10 minutes".
If you do not check in
The app asks "Are you OK?" and offers ways to reach someone: text your trusted contacts, message them on WhatsApp, start a buddy call or call 112.
Text and WhatsApp open your own messaging app with a note already written, and your Google Maps share link if you pasted one into the app. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
On Android, the phone reminds you when time is up. On iPhone and the web app, reminders reach you when you are signed in with notifications on. Without notifications, you see them only while the app is open.
Know a dark spot? Put it on the map.
It takes a photo and a pin. Volunteers do the rest.
